Bond Dickinson's Renewable Energy project finance team has advised Renewable Energy Systems ( RES), on securing a financing facility with Nord LB under a portfolio structure that may support the financing of up to 200MW of wind farm assets in the UK. Bond Dickinson provided legal counsel on the finance and real estate aspects of the transaction that will refinance the construction and development of the Jack’s Lane and Woolley Hill Wind Farms under a non-recourse debt package.

Jack’s Lane Wind Farm in Norfolk is a 6 turbine 15MW wind farm and Woolley Hill Wind Farm, located in Cambridgeshire, is a 10MW wind farm with 4 turbines. Both wind farms feature 2.5MW Nordex turbines and together will be capable of generating sufficient renewable electricity to meet the average annual needs of around 18,000 UK homes.

*The homes equivalent has been calculated by taking the predicted energy yield of both sites and dividing it by the 2013 annual average household consumption figure from DECC (4128kWh).
