Xaar is launching its new Versatex ‘out-of-the-box’ print engine and the latest Nitrox Elite GS3 printhead at this year’s InPrint exhibition in Munich on 15-17th March.

Both exciting new developments will be on show in Hall A4, stand 2710, further establishing Xaar as industry leaders in unlocking the versatility and capability of digital inkjet in today’s manufacturing processes.

The Xaar Versatex provides users who have limited inkjet experience with the ability to fast track the digital inkjet development and integration process, allowing a speedy, cost effective and agile way for manufacturers to explore new potential applications.

Comprising a fully integrated datapath, ink supply system and supporting a large array of printheads from the ImagineX platform, the Xaar Versatex is a versatile, user-friendly and ready-to-go solution. It is available as both an evaluation kit, and a larger print engine and can be configured with multiple printheads up to 420mm in width.

Alongside the Xaar Versatex, the Nitrox Elite GS3 printhead will be shown for the first time. The small drop variant printhead is the newest member of the Xaar Nitrox family and delivers improved print uniformity and drop placement, creating high-definition image resolutions for smoother skin tones, gradients and colours. This makes the Nitrox Elite GS3 ideal for label and graphic applications as well as enabling fine details and features for functional fluid applications, such as PCB printing.

Graham Tweedale, Chief Operating Officer at Xaar said, “We are delighted to be demonstrating our latest developments at InPrint, the leading show for emerging printing and industrial manufacturing.

Xaar officially opened its new global headquarters in Cambridgeshire with a ceremony presided over by Chairman Andrew Herbert, CEO John Mills, CFO Ian Tichias and General Manager of the printhead business unit Graham Tweedale, alongside members of the team.

The move builds on Xaar’s recent rebrand and launch of its ImagineX platform as it continues to focus on the development of inkjet technology for printing and manufacturing applications worldwide.

Located on the Cambridge Business Park, in Waterbeach, Cambridgeshire, the new facility houses Xaar’s finance, HR, legal and marketing functions, as well as a new purpose-built R&D laboratory. Specifically configured to enhance the working environment for the team the new offices also embrace Xaar’s commitment to flexible working for employees.

Importantly, the offices also provide a significantly reduced carbon footprint for Xaar as it focuses on its sustainability objectives across the business.

Whilst the Waterbeach headquarters contains most of the corporate functions, the Huntingdon manufacturing facility will remain a key part of Xaar’s commitment to innovation, client collaboration and embracing new market opportunities.

On opening the new headquarters, John Mills, said; “We are proud of our heritage in Cambridgeshire and our new offices will provide the best working environment to help us continue to drive the global development of industrial inkjet technology use worldwide.”

About Xaar

Together with our partners and customers, Xaar has been transforming the world of inkjet technology for 30 years – and we’re just getting started.

With a new leadership team, new technology and new products, we have an exciting roadmap for the future – that will help our partners unleash the true power of inkjet printing and open up a world of opportunities for their business.

We believe true innovation comes from collaboration, which is why all our teams work together in Cambridgeshire where industrial inkjet was born.

Collaboration is at the core of our global partnerships too - whether we’re helping customers enhance their uptime or create production efficiencies from high-speed digitisation - we’re always innovating together.

We know that inkjet technology can not only maximise the efficiency of our partners’ businesses but help them evolve too. That’s why we go on a journey with our customers - offering expert insights and technical support every step of the way. Just like our printheads, Xaar’s partnerships are built to last.

Welcome to a whole new Xaar.

At this month’s FuturePrint Tech Fest, Xaar will explore the growing role of inkjet in novel industrial applications with a presentation that looks at the use of robotics in direct to shape printing, and also take part in the panel discussion titled “problem solving and applications”.

Renzo Trip, Principal Engineer at Xaar, and Graham Tweedale, General Manager of Xaar's printhead business, are among the key contributors to the Tech Fest event held on 29th – 30th June, which aims to focus on the successful development and integration of industrial inkjet.

During his seminar on 30th June at 10.00 BST / 11.00 CET Renzo will explore the capabilities and challenges of using robotics in inkjet printing. He will present the findings of a series of exacting tests undertaken using Xaar printheads in a variety of challenging scenarios, from inversion to operation in motion, reaffirming Xaar’s assertion that in the world of inkjet, “almost anything is possible”.

On 29th June at 16.00 BST / 17.00 CET Graham Tweedale will be discussing the elements needing consideration when looking at inkjet as a potential commercial production solution. In particular, he will highlight the importance of fluid testing at the very start of a project and its role in helping to understand whether inkjet is a viable technology for the application under review. This, alongside the early production of samples helps to identify and resolve any issues early on, saving time and money. Graham will also highlight how collaboration is fundamental to this process and only by developing deep, open relationships with partners –rather than a traditional customer/supplier relationship – will the broader skills and knowledge contribute to the success of each programme.

The right ink chemistry, the best integration and engineering partner, software, drive electronics, inkjet printhead and curing technology must all be aligned for success to be achieved, and the FuturePrint Tech Fest seeks to address each of these areas in detail over its two days.

Both sessions are open to all and can be attended by registering at: https://techfest.futureprint.tech
