Peel targets EfW network in north England
Peel Environmental has announced plans to develop a network of merchant waste management facilities across the north of England.
The company said that it is pursuing a number of opportunities in the Yorkshire and Humber area including the Southmoor Energy Centre Kellingley Colliery in Beal, North Yorkshire
The Southmoor Energy Centre is a proposed energy-from-waste facility with CHP, to be co-located at Kellingley Colliery.
The Energy Centre will generate 26MW of low carbon electricity and heat from approximately 280,000 tonnes of residual
waste – left after recycling – from across the region, the company said.
